I’ve been watching a lot of episodes of Nashville lately (still on Season 1, catching up), both because I’d heard it was good and because I love country music. There was a lot of country played in my childhood home–Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gale. But it wasn’t until I started doing research for my novel In Concert that I really immersed myself in country music. I have too many favorites to list (okay, here’s a few: Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Chris Cagle, Gary Allan, Sugarland), but I’m currently listening to Blake Shelton’s latest album, Based on a True Story. Yes, the entire album – and every single song is great. You can’t say that for many albums these days.
And so far with Nashville, every single song on the show is great as well. I’m loving the drama, the heartache, the musical montages, all of it. I can’t wait to get to Season 2.
And Connie Britton (Rayna Jaymes), I covet thy hair.
